Paper Mache is a great craft for the kids and it’s also simple to make! First, cut some strips of newspaper. Then make the paper mache paste by simply stirring flour and water together. Handy tip: You can also add salt to prevent your creation from future molding. Next, cover your project with four layers and then let it dry completely. Repeat this process until it’s as thick and sturdy as you would like.

To make paper beads you will need to start with long triangles of newspaper. You will also need a glue stick, a long toothpick/bamboo skewer, and clear finishing glue such as Mod Podge. To begin, add a bit of glue onto the pointed side of the triangle and wrap the wide end tightly around the slender cylinder. Once you’ve rolled most of the triangle up, glue the tip of the triangle to the rolled paper. Then to seal it off and help keep the paper in place, apply the clear finish and let dry. You can use these beads to make earrings, bracelets, and necklaces, get creative and have fun!

Things You’ll Need: Rubbing alcohol, newspaper, top-coat, light-colored nail polish
First, start by painting your nails with a light shade of nail polish. If you use a dark shade, the newspaper will not show up. Let the polish dry thoroughly. Next, take the rubbing alcohol and pour it into a small dipping cup. For this step you can either chose to dip your nails into the rubbing alcohol or instead dip the small newspaper pieces one by one into the rubbing alcohol. Next press the pieces of newspaper firmly to your nail for a few seconds. Then peel the newspaper off carefully to reveal your newspaper nails! To finish, apply a top-coat to prevent the ink from rubbing off.
